VTS Opinion of Use: Highly sought model in Work-Ready condition! The Sterling was the middle portable for the final LC Smith Corona Speedline series. Interestingly enough, they used the Sterling to introduce the new 'Flat-Top" design. In 1932 they offered the Gorham solid silver "Sterling" (Sterling Silver) typewriter for display, and purchase, in typewriter shops. The Silent had some cosmetic upgrades but was essentially the same machine as the Sterling. This is an excellent typewriter for regular use. The mechanics are sound and the action smooth. Much less choppy than the early LC Smith and Corona portables. Ready for that novel or script. No excuses with this typewriter ;-) This is a consignment piece. Please see VTS News for more information. It has been fully degreased, cleaned, adjusted, oiled, tested and comes with a new ribbon installed. Over 3 hours of a hands on process performed over several days. It's ready to type right out of the box! Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions about this beautiful, original vintage typewriter or need more pictures :-)
